Let me begin by saying "Thank You" Simon. You have created an outlet for the "little guy" to vent and hopefully force the tour operators to pay up when they flagrantly misrepresent their offerings. I haven't had the misfortune of booking with any of the British tour operators, but have been burnt by Condor when I lived in Germany and by a couple of operators in Canada (Nolitours and Sunquest) so I can certainly sympathize with your recent debacle.
And, the way you compose your biography of events, makes it so easy to picture it in my mind, as if I was there with you. As others have said, you have a gift of writing that puts time and space in the readers mind. It's amazing how you can transform your "disappointment" into a comedy of errors. I almost think Basil Faulty will appear at any time.
As for TA, there are the new comers that love your review, then there are the 1000+ posters who will come up with every excuse to discount your negative review. It's almost like you were not of your right mind and made everything up. I'm not sure what it is, but it seems if you diss the beloved Cuba, the 1000+ posters come out to rip the poster apart. I have no fear that you will prevail in your quest to get justice from Thompson.
